A real apartment in the centre of town — not a room, not a rental.
Most accommodation in Ios forces a choice: stay in a hotel and eat every meal out, or rent an apartment far from town and shuttle in for the night. Our four-person Apartment splits the difference. It's a self-catering apartment in the heart of Chora — one minute from the main square — but managed with the daily housekeeping, fast Wi-Fi and front-desk help of a small family-run hotel.
The kitchenette has the essentials for breakfasts, snacks and easy dinners — cooktop, fridge, sink, basic cookware and the freedom to walk five minutes to the bakery and the grocer. The separate living area gives a space to relax that isn't your bed, and the en-suite bathroom keeps the morning routine sane for four travelling together.
Inside, it's bright, classically Cycladic, and finished without fuss. Outside, you can step into Chora and be at a coffee, a beach bus or a great taverna in two minutes. It's the easiest way to spend a week on Ios with a partner, kids, or a few good friends.
Bright, simple, well-equipped — and in the centre of everything.
Six things that make a four-person stay easy — that a normal hotel room can’t.
A kitchen, not a coffee maker
Eat breakfast on your own schedule, fix lunch when the beach has tired everyone out, share a slow dinner without ordering yet another taverna meal. The kitchenette has cooktop, fridge, sink, cookware and crockery for four.
Separate living area
Somewhere to read, watch a film or have a glass of wine that isn't the bed. For couples that matters; for families with kids it matters even more.
100 metres from the main square
Chora is the social heart of Ios. Restaurants, cafés, the bakery, the grocer, the bus stop for the beach — all on foot in two to three minutes.
Hotel-managed, not a rental
Daily housekeeping, fast Wi-Fi, an en-suite bathroom, an in-room safe, and a family at the front desk a few steps away when you need anything. None of the "where is the host?" anxiety of a private rental.
Air-conditioned for July and August
Cycladic summers are real. Air-conditioning across the apartment means everyone sleeps, regardless of how hot the day was.
Quiet enough to sleep, close enough to walk
The apartment is set back from the main bar streets — close to the action without being on top of it. Light sleepers can ask us at booking and we'll flag the quietest unit available.

Who chooses the four-person Apartment
What guests ask before they book
How many people can stay in the four-person Apartment?
The Apartment sleeps up to four guests. It has a bedroom and a separate living area with sleeping arrangements, an en-suite bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchenette.
How is the Apartment different from a Standard Room?
The big differences are the kitchenette and the separate living area. A Standard Room is a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom; the Apartment adds an actual living space and the ability to cook. For stays longer than two or three nights, or for travellers who want the freedom to eat in, the Apartment is usually the better fit.
How is the Apartment different from the Superior Apartment?
The Superior Apartment sleeps five (instead of four), has more square metres and a dedicated dining area. If you need a fifth bed or you simply want more space to spread out, the Superior is the upgrade. For four guests on a normal trip, the standard Apartment is everything most people need.
How well equipped is the kitchenette?
Cooktop, fridge, sink, kettle, basic cookware, crockery and cutlery for four. Enough to do breakfast, snacks, salads, pasta and simple dinners — not a chef's kitchen. If you want a full oven and dishwasher, look at The House.
Is the Apartment good for families with young children?
Yes. Air-conditioning, the en-suite bathroom and the separate living area make a big difference with kids; a cot can be added in most apartments by request at booking. We'll do our best to assign a unit that suits the age of the children.
Will the Chora nightlife keep us awake?
The Apartment is set back from the main bar streets — close enough to walk to everything in three to five minutes, set back enough to sleep. If anyone in your group is a particularly light sleeper, ask us when you book and we'll flag the quietest available apartment.
Is parking available?
There is local public parking nearby. Most guests don't bring a car — the bus network from Chora is good and the island is easy to navigate without one. If you do rent a car, ask us at booking and we'll point you to the closest options.
When is the hotel open?
Aphrodite Hotel & Apartments runs its full season from May through October, when every room and apartment is open. A small number of rooms are also available year-round on request — get in touch and we will confirm availability outside the main season.
